Created in 2002, the Institute (Colégio Mão Amiga Brasil) is part of the Federación Mano Amiga (International), an institution whose objective is to build community development centers in areas of scarce resources, where people are trained in three dimensions: individual, family and community.
The region where the school was built, 12 km from the center of Itapecerica, is a poor community called Jardim Santa Julia, which has a target audience of around 20,000 people.
In order to guarantee access to quality education for children and adolescents, the school currently serves more than 550 children aged 4 to 17 years, offering a formal study based on high levels of effectiveness, with a privileged space, support for families, English classes, theater, computers, tutoring and an excellent training program in values.
