Comunidade Deus e Nossa Senhora keeps Dom Helder Câmara's struggle alive by promoting human dignity.

CDNS continues to follow the teachings of Dom Hélder Câmara, who dedicated his life to the struggle for social justice and the promotion of human dignity. His teachings of love, faith, obedience and solidarity are the basis that guides the work of the Community.

Throughout 2024, the Pastoral Community of God and Our Lady has dedicated itself to bringing comfort and dignity to those most in need, especially the homeless. During the Christmas period, this work intensified, and 1,200 tasty, love-filled hot meals were delivered with great affection.

This gesture reflects the pastoral ministry's commitment to reaching out to minorities and the marginalized, as Jesus taught, caring for everyone with equal love and attention. Through its ongoing work, CDNS seeks to care for the universal family that God the Father instructed us to love when he said: “Love your neighbor as yourself”.

Each pastoral action is a response to this divine call to welcome, respect and reach out to our brothers and sisters in need, recognizing that all are children of the same God, without distinction, and also to keep Dom Helder's legacy alive.

“Dom Helder taught us to love unconditionally, to have faith in the transformation of the world through concrete actions of kindness, to be obedient to the word of God and to show solidarity with those most in need, always seeking a more just and fraternal world.”

Fabio Leonardo, president of CDNS.

Although Christmas is a time of special generosity, the Pastoral of the Community of God and Our Lady does not limit its commitment to this time of year. Its mission to care for, support and evangelize continues unabated throughout the months. And it will be no different in 2025: - CDNS hopes to continue transforming lives and touching hearts, spreading God's love to everyone, without exception.
