In the days when the low temperatures hit hardest the residents who are still trying to survive the aftermath of the floods, EDS teams were in Eldorado do Sul and Canoas, cities badly hit by the floods, to provide specialized medical care, as well as examinations and donations of eyeglasses to hundreds of people who had lost much of what they had.
Between June 29 and July 7, more than 1,500 consultations were held and 1,200 glasses were donated by EDS and its partners.
