The Community God and Our Lady has as one of its missions to serve others, so the "Bucho Cheio" Project is carried out weekly by the NGO. Giving food to those who are hungry and thus serving residents of humble communities in the Municipality of Paulista. This activity is a reflection of what Jesus said in the book of Matthew "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you welcomed me" (Mt 25:35).
With the arrival of Covid-19 and, consequently, the increase in the pandemic and unemployment of a large part of the population, the number of people benefited by the Project has only increased. Men, women and children benefit from the activity, which is often the only source of food for the family that day.
Airton has been a homeless resident of Recife Antigo for a long time and said that donations are decreasing. "There are days when I only eat once, a lot of people stop coming. The rain is getting in the way, if it weren't for you, we'd go hungry."
Simple food, made with care and love by CDNS volunteers is a source of energy, a source of great joy and fuel to continue fighting for a better life.
