SOMAR: Cutting diamonds and offering opportunities where they can shine!

Children and teenagers are like rough diamonds that we have to polish so that they shine throughout their lives. And just like a diamond, these children and teenagers often don't get the chance to show their full potential because they end up overshadowed and hidden by a lack of opportunity.

SOMAR is an association whose mission is to offer opportunities and positively impact communities in situations of social vulnerability, through the integral formation of children, adolescents and young people.

It's no coincidence that the project that is the gateway to SOMAR is called: - Cutting Diamonds.

In addition to this and other projects, there is also the Sou Mais project, which was set up to take in children who were already taking part in the project, but when they became teenagers and young adults, they no longer had space in the organization.

At SOU MAIS, they are encouraged to become the protagonists of their lives, believing that they are capable and deserving of all the opportunities they strive for.

In its sixteen-year history, SOMAR now serves almost 50% of the population aged between 9 and 15 in Jardim da Felicidade, the community where it is based in São Paulo. A significant milestone, but they know there is still a lot to be done.

And to celebrate another year of many transformed lives, there's nothing better than those who live this project up close to tell us how SOMAR adds value to their lives too!
