Women Who Transform: The Challenge of Leading Social Projects in a World of Inequality

Writer: ABMTHSABMTHS

March is women's month, a time to celebrate achievements, but also to reflect on persistent challenges and battles to be won.

In Feira de Santana, Bahia, one of these battles is being fought by women who are not only fighting for their rights, but also for the rights of other women who are trying to rebuild their personal and professional lives.

To do this, they rely on Espaço Viva Mulher, which offers psychological, legal and vocational support to women who have been victims of violence, extreme poverty or abandonment.

Leading this space of welcome, inclusion and transformation is Sister Augustina Obi, who, despite her limited resources, can always count on female solidarity.

The challenges faced by Sister Augustina reflect the Brazilian reality, where women are still unable to occupy spaces on an equal footing with men.

In addition, according to the Brazilian Public Security Forum, the rates of violence against women remain alarmingly high, making the work of projects like Viva Mulher even more essential.

Even in the face of difficulties, Sister Augustina remains hopeful and believes that the month of March should be a reminder of women's ongoing struggle:

In a world where challenges persist, resilience and unity among women remain the greatest force for change.
